HARTFORD (September 9, 2019) – September is National Recovery Month. In keeping with the themes of National Recovery Month and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Stigma Free Campaign, on September 4th Chelsea Place Care Center held a pep rally type event, the second annual of its kind for iCare, at the care center in Hartford.
iCare Health Network and all its care centers made the commitment to provide a Stigma Free environment and Stigma-Free care to residents with mental illness as well as those with substance use disorder, dementia and cognitive disorders in 2018.
Chelsea Place is encouraging all iCare care centers to once again display “Stigma Free” Pledge banners, and to encourage all staff, residents, outside staff and other visitors to take or reaffirm the pledge to provide stigma-free, compassionate and non-judgmental care.
