BENNINGTON, VT (December 10, 2024) – On November 21, 2024, MissionCare at Bennington and iCare Health Network were honored to welcome distinguished guests including Dr. Jill Bowen, Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Aging and Independent Living; Deputy Commissioner Megan Tierney-Ward; Vermont Department of Corrections Deputy Commissioner Kristin Calver in joining Chris Wright in a ceremonial ribbon cutting to mark the grand opening of the care center.
Together, we celebrated the launch of our new program, which marks a significant milestone in providing vital healthcare resources for Vermont. This event was not only a ribbon-cutting but also a heartfelt acknowledgment of the dedication and partnerships that made this vision a reality.

A 91 bed center in southwestern Vermont, MissionCare at Bennington will provide similar services to sister facilities 60 West in Rocky Hill, Connecticut and MissionCare at Holyoke in western, Massachusetts. The primary mission will be providing long term care services for Vermont residents who require a nursing home level of care, meet the Federal requirements to reside in a nursing home and have had difficulty finding placement in a traditional nursing home. These individuals are typically residing in a more restrictive and more costly location awaiting transition to where they will reside over the long term.
