SOUTHINGTON (March 27, 2023) – On March 27, 2023, the Connecticut Chapter of the American Association of Health Care Administrators inducted new, 2023 members to the Connecticut Certified Nursing Assistant Hall of Fame, and that distinguished group included Silver Springs Care Center’s Luz Torres.
Luz has been a CNA at Silver Springs for 42 years! She was inducted to the Hall of Fame at a ceremony held today at the Aria Banquet Facility in Prospect, CT. The Chapter shared that the Connecticut Chapter of the American Association of Health Care Administrators inducts Luz Torres into the Connecticut Certified Nursing Assistant Hall of Fame, “In recognition of your distinguished service and dedication to the health care needs of all residents, we are proud to recognize you as an outstanding caregiver and place your name among the finest nursing assistants in the State of Connecticut.”
Luz Torres started working a Silver Springs Care Center on August 5, 1980; over 42 years at the same facility. Silver Springs Care Center, originally known as Royal Crest, has gone through several names over those many years but Luz has always remained. I have had the privilege to work with Luz for over seven years now. Luz is the most kind, caring, conscientious individual I have ever encountered in my 40 years as an Administrator.
I have spoken to many of the employees here who have worked with Luz for many more years than I have and they all agree, she is absolutely the best. Luz has also trained many CNAs throughout the years. She always maintains the highest standard for delivery of quality care and improves the resident’s quality of life every day that she is here.
