MERIDEN, CT (December 20, 2018) – Regina Estrada, a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Silver Springs Care Center in Meriden has been recognized by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) as the 2018 Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) of the Year for her work in the field of dementia care.
The CDP of the Year award recognizes the impact that the recipient has in dementia care and their ability to motivate their colleagues to set higher care goals with patient care.
The award is recognized as one of the nation’s most prestigious awards in the field of dementia care. Regina was selected from a field of thousands of nominations. Lynn Biot Gordon, COO of the NCCDP, and Rhonda Brand, President of the NCCDP, presented the award in person at the Silver Springs Care Center on December 18, 2018 at 11:30am.
Regina Estrada is Charge Nurse for Silver Springs’ 39-bed Memory Care unit. She has worked at the care center for 32 years, starting 07/02/86 as a Certified Nurses Aide, received her LPN license in April 1990, and has been a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) since 2017.
According to the NCCDP, Regina is able to meet the challenges of reaching beyond state and federal regulations regarding dementia education and care. Through the nominee’s commitment to excellence in dementia care, the nominee inspires a lifelong passion for their colleagues’ continued growth in patient care.
