The entire iCare team is excited to celebrate National Nursing Home Week, this week May 13-19th. According to the American Health Care Association (AHCA) website, AHCA established the weeklong celebration in 1967, always beginning on Mother’s Day. NNHW provides an opportunity for residents and their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and surrounding communities to recognize the role of skilled nursing care centers in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities.

If you are out and about, take a look at the Touchpoints at Bloomfield grounds and see what we are up to.  For the past three years we have been tapping our trees for sap to make maple syrup from scratch. We are lucky to have our very own Andy Cassasa, Director of Maintenance, collect the sap and cook it down to make pure maple syrup. Every year it’s a tradition for the recreation department to make homemade Belgian waffles for our residents with our very own maple syrup.
