Parkville Care Center Brings the Christmas Spirit All December Long

Parkville Care Center was in the holiday spirit this year with festive attire all month long. The month of December was full of special outfit and attire days like Cozy Toes, Silver Bells, Winter Wonderland, Rudolph Red Wear, Jolly Jeans and more. Santa came to visit the residents, passing out gifts to all. Meanwhile staff enjoyed a tasty holiday lunch with music, raffles and plenty of merriment! Now dash away all! -

Parkville Care Center’s post-amputation, All Phase Limb Loss Program was highlighted in the Spanish language program Acceso Total on Telemundo. The segment aired over the past week and will be replayed several times. Parkville’s Limb Loss Program is designed to holistically treat the patient and their family through the pre and post stages of limb loss and amputation rehabilitation. On August 21, 2022, staff and their families from iCare’s Chelsea Place, Parkville and Trinity Hill Care Centers represented iCare at the 2022 Greater Hartford Puerto Rican Day Parade and Festival del Coqui. As they did in 2019, the iCare team marched in the parade from Wawarme Avenue, ending in Bushnell Park, decked out in matching t-shirts and regalia and accompanied by decorated Jeeps.

During the week of June 19-25 the team at Parkville Care Center held a Spirit Week for residents and staff to kick off Summer ‘22. The week included five different themes; DIsney Day, Nerd Day, Wig Day, Styling Summer Dress Day and Wacky Socks Day. Spirit Weeks are a great way to spice up the time between holidays and other events and engage residents in activities, therapeutic recreation and just plain fun.
