On April 15, 2020 Westside Care Center received a message via their website from a resident who wished to remain anonymous in his or her praise but wanted to ensure it was shared with staff and beyond. The message was from the resident’s experience with the Westside Care Center team but could easily apply to any iCare care center or other nursing home nationwide, where healthcare heroes are caring for 1.4 million residents.

Westside Care Center Throws Pajama Party to Benefit Patients and Families at Connecticut Children's

The Westside Care Center team joined schools, workplaces and organizations from around the State of Connecticut in throwing a pajama party to raise money for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Each participants donated a minimum of $5 to wear pajamas for the day. Proceeds will be donated to help parents of children fighting cancer with the cost of parking, food, and other general expenses during the hospital stay. -
Westside Care Center Nurse Aids Fallen Member of the Public

Westside Care Center nurse Eunice Anim finished her shift at the care center and stopped at a local grocery store on the way home. While shopping a page came over the store’s PA system asking if there was a medically trained person in the house. Eunice immediately heeded the call and responded to the patient’s side. Without hesitation she provided care and resuscitation to the critically ill patient until emergency medical services arrived. Nice job, Eunice! -
