Family and Friends, our dear Jude passed away on Thursday, March 4th, surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was a treasure and light to this world that will be greatly missed. He taught us to enjoy life, to love others, and to face hardship with courage and faith. Jude was a friend to everyone, an incredible brother and son, and most devotedly an amazing husband and dad. Jude spent his life following Jesus and leaned on his strong faith. Along with representatives from Hartford Fire Department and Aetna Ambulance Service, the staff of Parkville Care Center in Hartford held a remembrance ceremony for the lives lost during the Greenwood Nursing Home Fire in 2003. Parkville Care Center was formerly known as Park Place and prior to that, at the time of the deadly fire, was named Greenwood Health Center. On February 7th, Concetta Lopes, a resident of Touchpoints at Bloomfield, was able to celebrate her 98th birthday with a long awaited gift – an indoor, in-person visit with her son; the first indoor visit at Touchpoints in almost a year of COVID precautions and visitor restrictions. In early February 2021, the Touchpoints at Manchester team received Vera’s Story, an eloquent testimonial from a grateful resident. It reads: “I could not speak or write to communicate. The staff at Touchpoints took the time to read my lips and understand my gestures. They showed me so much kindness with no judgment. They took care of me.
