The staff and residents of Touchpoints at Bloomfield had an outstanding time dunking the “shark”, Administrator Jaime Faucher. Staff and residents participated in throwing the bean bags into the sharks mouth. If they hit the target Jaime the Shark was “dunked” with very cold water by Recreation Director Cindy Payne. The week included a visit from a shark expert who spoke on a shark’s day to day life, made shark teeth necklaces and of course watched the popular 1970’s film Jaws.  

The rain did not hold them back. Touchpoints at Bloomfield residents took a day trip to Dunkin Donuts Park in Hartford to watch the Wareham Gateman play the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox as part of famous Cape League Baseball. It ended up being a beautiful and cool day for the residents on this second annual trip with the Gateman beating the Red Sox 3-2.  The residents had a great time and were excited to see the Touchpoints name up on the scoreboard as the park welcomed groups to the game. 

In early July, Touchpoints at Bloomfield received a generous donation of beautiful garden boxes, plants, flowers and soil from KBE Building Corporation of Farmington, CT. According to Touchpoints’ Cindy Payne, “The residents are so excited to receive such a generous donation. Our rehab team has utilized the garden boxes to work with our residents on strength and mobility through our horticulture program.” 

Employees from multiple iCare Health Network centers won scholarships and several care centers were recognized at the Connecticut Association of Health Care Facilities 90th Annual Meeting, held on the north lawn of Mystic Seaport on July 11th. Many pictures in the post. 

Snickers the Pony came to visit residents from Touchpoints at Chestnut on July 4th. Snickers hails from Shag Bark Hickory Farm right in East Windsor and made the residents’ day with his presence. Mr. Snickers, as the farm calls him, makes frequent wardrobe changes and is happy to participate in activities.
