Westside Care Center Holds CNA Recognition Ceremony During National Nursing Assistants Week

June 13-20th was National Nursing Assistants Week and as part of celebrating and recognizing the hard work that Nursing Assistants do each and every day, Westside Care Center held a CNA Recognition Ceremony. Silver Springs Care Center’s Noel Orsini recently took a group of the care center’s veterans on a day trip to the submarine base in Groton, CT. A veteran himself, Noel works to bring camaraderie and activities to Silver’s veterans and as a contracted provider for the Veteran’s Affairs there are many in residence. It’s clear from the pictures that the group had a fun-filled day and we thank them for their service.

The residents of Touchpoints at Bloomfield, with help from the recreation and dietary departments, put on a wonderful appreciation reception for the care center’s CNA team. The residents wrote up inspirational and thankful mottos and tied them to diamond-top pens. Administrator Jaime Faucher and Director of Nursing Shanta Griffiths said a few words as the residents praised the hard working CNA staff.

The staff at Touchpoints at Farmington was honored and recognized with an official citation from the Connecticut General Assembly. State Representatives Bobby Sanchez (25th District) and Mike Demicco (21st District) conveyed the honor. In part it reads, “Beyond your knowledge, expertise and professionalism, you also demonstrated dedication, love, and compassion towards him, and his family over the past two years at Touchpoints…”

Touchpoints at Chestnut organized and celebrated a “Caribbean Week” full of events, food and parties. One event saw staff members sharing their personal stories of life on their island and how they came to be here in Connecticut. The residents enjoyed hearing their personal stories, asked plenty of questions and sang and danced to traditional songs.
