In mid-January 2020 a CNN article appeared detailing how a 104 year-old Marine Corps veteran, who served in World War II, was asking for Valentine’s Day cards. On and around February 2nd, the team at 60 West threw its sixth annual Super Bowl Party and ”Pick ‘Em Winners” for staff and residents. This is 60 West’s largest staff-resident engagement event, starting as a weekly gameday event that spans the entire football season and culminates with the Super Bowl. 

According to the American Heart Association site, nearly 80 percent of cardiac events can be prevented and cardiovascular diseases continue to be a woman’s greatest health threat. Silver Springs Care Center held a retirement celebration for Rae Losnes, Licensed Practical Nurse, who retired from Silver Springs after 37 years of service. Rae worked as an LPN Charge Nurse on Second Floor East for many years.
